Chained to a radiator

First there is a gun, a girl, a cigarette

A car, a bar, a star, a secret to forget

Next, there is a set, a street a neighbourhood

A cop, a crowd, a threat, a bad guy looking good.

Acting for your life, Director takes the floor

The scene so promising still seems to need some more

Sweat, more passion, life! he wants more blood and tears

In flames, a star is born, you’re on take 24

You wake up chained to a radiator

Someone’s gone out, left you all alone

That unused room in an old apartment

Been here all night and it’s almost noon.

Night. The falling rain, the city never sleeps.

The nerves and fear converge, the taxi takes a bend

Shots, a light goes red, the rubber hits the road

More shots, a burning car, and there the story ends.

Flash! The lights go up, I’m ready for my closeup

But we’ve all heard that same old cliche before

The Boss, always repeats it when he comes on set.

And no-one wants to be the first to contradict.

Chorus

I could take a trip If I wanna disappear

No-one and Nothing. Nobody stopping me.

But I’m enslaved by a real heartbreaker

Romantic wraith with an artist’s eye

He guides my hand on the grey turntable

And I can sense him here by my side

Flash! The big ship sails, the perfect metaphor for a tale of love and class

So true, they never mix

Crash! External forces represent the world of high finance, corruption and hypocrisy

Chorus

I could take a trip If I wanna disappear

No-one, and Nothing. Nobody stopping me.

We’re all locked into the propaganda

Manipulated to a high degree

Why do you want me to feel these emotions

Why do you need to have to have control over me?

I just got free from the radiator

Kicked down the back door and I jumped the fence

I’m gonna run as far as I can

I know this screenplay does not make sense.

Inspired by Tie Me Up Tie Me Down, at least at the beginning. But there are also references to The Big Ship Sails, Titanic, and Ghost In there. There is a cartoonish, SuperMario influence to in the way the guitar gimmicks keep on piling up. In the end, it turns into a rant about Hollywood’s emotional manipulation of audiences. Why do they do that? Money of course 😂
